Our RC18 PV reference cell (810226-02, 810226-03) and original Mars Soiling Sensor product (810230-01, 810230-10) use an M12 8-pin connector that provides power and RS485 communication.

The wire colors on the 5-pin connector are different from those on the 8-pin connector. You can see the new wire colors in our user guides for each of the new products.

Our new products introduced in 2022 -- RDE300i, new Mars version (810230-20), and RC22 PV reference cell -- all use an industry-standard M12 5-pin connector that provides power and RS485 communication.

To facilitate retrofit installations, we have a short adapter cable (830296) that will go from an 8-pin cable already installed on-site to the 5-pin output needed for the new products. For new installations, this adapter cable is not needed.
