Our 2020 pantomime was Toy Story, and in 2021 it will be The Wizard of Oz. Our productions are written to match the talents of the young people taking part, and we aim to present something unique, rather than the films and shows that have the same names.

We take safeguarding of our children and young people very seriously. All our helpers have had DBS checks and have attended the latest safeguarding training courses organised by the Methodist Church. All photographs and personal information on this website are password-protected.

Spotlight is part of the Church at Bents Green, Sheffield. We organise drama, music and dance activities for children and young people. Our main activity at the moment is our annual pantomime. We also have a children’s choir, and occasional special projects.

Although we are based at Bents Green, and many of the children and young people take part in other activities at the church, we welcome all young people who wish to take part. Our pantomime includes people from other churches, and from no church. It includes people with special needs. Everyone is welcome.

We also organise a Café Panto in our church coffee area where parents can chat and relax while their children are rehearsing. This has proved very popular.

Our pantomimes are traditional entertainment for all the family, with jokes old and new, songs and dances, and plenty of audience participation. We also include a Christian dimension that fits naturally into the story. For example, the Toys in Toy Story were able to enjoy a new quality of life granted by their Creator.
